Buying Your First Telescope By Huw Jones
Space telescopes are amazing instruments. Looking up to the sky on many occasions deep down you want to soon see more. A shining glimmer of light from a star is not enough, we want to see the beauty the universe contains. Your first amateur telescope can be a blessing or a curse! Before we take a deeper look at what kind of amateur telescope will be right for your needs, there are a couple of things I need to clarify:
1. The pictures on the telescopes box is taken by a professional astro-photographer. You won't see these kind of pictures with your amateur telescope.
2. When you look through an amateur astronomy telescope it will be in shades of black and white.
Think of the amateur telescope box for your telescope as the pictures from fast food restaurants. The picture looks amazing in the picture, but the result is less than imagined. This can make people think that amateur telescopes are not what they make out to be and that they should not buy a first time home telescope. This is not the case, after all we still love fast food. Your first amateur telescope will still bring you amazing sights which are breathtaking.
Two things to keep in mind are the price and quality factors. In the last part I gave you an example of a fast food chain and the pictures. Now if you purchase your first amateur astonomy telescope for $100 or less, than realize that the quality of your telescope will not satisfy your desire to see the universe.
Those amateur telescopes selling for less than $100 are great for looking at the moon, but will prove no use for any deep space viewing. The key to having the best amateur astrology telescope is to make Toda Água da Terra Pode Ter Vindo do Espaço Uma boa proporção de água dos oceanos pode ter se originado dos cometas e asteroides, mais do que era estimado até agora, talvez até toda a água, segundo um grupo de cientistas que estudou um desses...<br/>

sure your first telescope has a strong mount, otherwise the image will shake everywhere, and you will not see much.
The best option is to go for a $200+ amateur telescope for your first one. The price determines quality with telescopes whether it is your first amateur telescope or you are a seasoned telescope user. And the most important parts that need quality is the telescope mount, telescope lens, and telescope mirror.
The main items to look at when buying an telescope are the two numbers that will tell you how well it is expected to work. For a great first time home telescope, a listing of 20X50 is about average. This means the magnification will equal 20 times what you see with your eyes and the 50 is the width of the length, which is what determines how much light is gathered. The more light the better the image will be visible in the dark and for astronomy, all star gazing is typically done after dark.
A lot of the cheap amteur telescopes are sold to you on fancy gadgets. They look good to have on your new first telescope, but the truth is that these features will be of no use. Consider on a $100 telescope that comes with loads of fancy gadgets, most of the money is going on those features. All you need to get started in amateur astronomy is to make sure more your money goes on the telescope mirror, telescope mount, and telescope lenses.
Reading this article I hope has clarified certain things to consider when you buy your first time home telescope. There are a lot of things to consider, but keep to these rules, and when you buy an amateur astronomy telescope you will be pleased with the results. Copyright 2008 | |
